Captains Log: Ye 28th February 2019

I am heartily pleased to be able to announce our wonderful stallholders for this year’s Seed Swapping extravaganza!!

The Vegan Organic Network – Promoting stock-free organic growing throughout the world.  My husband John & I have a v-o back garden and small allotment where we grow a modest amount of veg, fruit & herbs for The Art House Gallery Cafe in Southampton.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust  – nature conservation charity with lots of reserves & events suitable for all ages

Yvonne’s Plants – Yvonne’s Plants is a small company with a big passion for growing quality plants.  They are a little bit different to most plant growers as we concentrate on growing edible plants as opposed to ornamental plants,  growing an extensive range of vegetable plants, herbs, fruit bushes, alongside a limited range of wild flower plants.

Extinction Rebellion Southampton (tbc)

“The science is done – we are now heading for extinction. The time has come to take radical and serious political action.

Change to avert the worst of the disaster is still technically and economically possible. It involves creating a world which is less frenetic and more beautiful; making the necessary changes will also create jobs. This is an emergency situation – action is urgent.
Our Government isn’t acting in accordance with what science and history tells us (e.g. the rise of fascism). Therefore our Government is criminally complicit. We have a moral duty to rebel, whatever our politics. Social science shows us that peaceful civil disobedience is an effective way to bring about change. Our lives have meaning when we follow our conscience and are willing to make sacrifices to protect what we love. We ask others who feel the same way to join our peaceful Rebellion.”
Still space for a couple more xxx
Southampton Seed Swap should be a lovely lovely day – both the Seed Swap crew and I look forward to seeing you all there!!
